The other day I sat outside

on one of the first warm days of the new season. There were so many birds singing their songs~~they frightened me. I have lived amid nature my entire life and I've never seen so many birds at one time. And, I realized that if they passed along information to one another~~determining in their own special way~~that I was some sort of prey, then at a moment's notice thousands of oscine warm-blooded feathered vertebrates could come hissing and jeering down at me. I went indoors, safe from the signs of springtime. .

Where do our fears emanate from? Why is it so difficult to find or feel security?

Fears boil up from within and usualy have no outside cause,I think, fear and anxiety are both moods and they are twins.
One might stand against a dengerous situation and fight bravely if in the mood or be scared of a tiny mouse. don't u think so?

A little too much Hitchcock, perhaps?

Dear mindinside & rhodester: I think it's more like too much nature. Can that be possible? Well, yes, I suppose it can if you've lived all your years in the woodlands. I think it's a sign that the birds are starting to get on my nerves and I need a little bit of tar and mortar. I know that sounds strange but life is sometimes very very strange. Nice to hear from both of you.

I find Nature can be really frightening---not just birds, but the eyes of almost any animal, ice storms, tsunamis---all scary and totally out of our control.

As a youngster, nature was always a healer but now as an adult, it's telling me something. Thank you lorna. I think it's become frightening because I must look at other things for a time, frightening as they, too may be.

Mad: I've never thought it frightening before but that's why I wrote this because it was so strange that it was so strange. We must respect Nature.

If i had the choice,I'd rather live among nature .... trees and flowers & listen to birds singing and the sound of river and breath fresh air far away from the ugly city .. the crowd & traffic sounds.

maybe the human race as the biggest terminator, hunter, predator,... is right to fear revenge ;-) yet there is also hollywood to add the spice to our deepest fears. Security is somewhat not compatible with our nature in the 21st century :-)

good post...

I will never get tired of them ever. Each day I spend with them, is a joy for me and each day I learn a thing new.

Your fear factor must be related to other psychological events or else I should have been a carcass long ago as I am in pure wilderness with just those poor souls as company.
